A practical example

If /old-services becomes /services, a permanent redirect can send visitors using the old link to the replacement page. For a temporary promotion, choose a temporary redirect instead. If a retired page has no suitable replacement, consider a 410 response rather than sending every old URL to the homepage.

Map the change
List the old paths and intended destinations. Review existing rules and choose the right status for each change.
Check before publishing
Preview imports. With Pro, review the migration draft and destination checks, including failed or unverified results.
Verify the result
Check the live response after publishing. Keep your exported mapping and, with Pro, the verification report and recovery options.

What to check first

RedirectNest manages redirects within WordPress. Server rules, CDN caches and another redirect plugin can affect the response a visitor receives. Review overlapping rules and test the live URLs. Redirects do not guarantee search rankings.

Can RedirectNest control redirects configured at my host or CDN?

No. Server-level rules and cached responses may run before WordPress. Check those settings separately when a live response differs from the plugin rule.
